Getting to know you
Getting to know all about you
Getting to like you
Getting to hope you like me

Getting to know you
Putting it my way
But nicely
You are precisely
My cup of tea

Getting to know me...

By this stage of life, you'd think nothing would be easier than writing a short bio. And yet, it's the very thing that knocks most writers to their knees. So who am I? In a nutshell, I'm an inquisitive native Texan music-loving wife, mother, Mimi, friend, neighbor, taco fanatic and writer (and now blogger) who spends her spare time reading, traveling, shopping and gardening.

Like all of you, I have fought my way through the mercurial days of the younger years to land in uncharted territory. With no road map (uhhh, just dated myself) — make that GPS— I entered my sixth decade thinking, "What's next?"

After spending the last decade as a writer for numerous state, national and international publications, I realized that assigned writing was becoming "a job" and my creativity was being stifled by necessary deadlines and all the usual trappings of the media outlets that had become so much become a part of my days. I decided to rethink my creative platform and follow the sage advice, "write what you know" in the form of an entertaining blog.

It didn't take long to find myself being steadily drawn to information that we can all use, including all kinds of goodies to keep life interesting. Surely, with data from the U.S. Census Bureau showing that there are 76.4 million baby boomers, I can't be the only one out there who is ready to enthusiastically tackle the next phase of our life-journey a positive attitude!

Consider this little blog as a respite from the daily routine where you can pop in for a smile, a bit of information, and a lighthearted look at how far we've come and how far we have yet to go.

Come along with me as we tackle the future as well as enjoy a few peeks into yesteryear, just for old-time's sake.

Drop me a line if you have a thought, idea, or topic request. Let's do this!

Reminding you to bloom where you're planted,

By the way, if you have lived long enough to recognize this picture, you're cruisin' through the right blogspot!
